There Is More Than The Matterhorn – There Are Historical Sights in Zermatt

Zermatt ski trips are always with thoughts of the Matterhorn, and with that brings talk about skiing and ice skating and more. There is more to this quaint village though, a history that is deep, rich, and the basis of what it is today. 

St Peter’s English Church –Opened in 1870 to hold services and as more travelers came to the area, making this a popular location for mountaineers, long before Zermatt ski trips were ever thought of, the need for English services grew. Still offering services every Sunday.  Or Parish Church of St. Mauritius – A vibrant focus on a vibrant community where locals and visitors attend Mass.
